Outside Sales Associate

The ideal candidate is proactive, consultative, and highly organized. They can manage a dynamic pipeline of opportunities across a variety of industries while maintaining strong customer relationships and cross-team coordination. This position requires on-site, in-person client interaction on a regular basis.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Outside Sales Associate is responsible for driving new business growth, expanding existing client relationships, and representing More Power Technology Group as a trusted advisor. This role focuses on understanding client needs, positioning appropriate technology solutions, and ensuring a seamless, professional sales experience from first conversation to close.

WAGE RANGE
$26.00 – $31.99 hourly dependent upon experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Generation

  • Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunity directives as identified.
  • Follow up on sales opportunities and document findings and progress.
  • Generate leads through networking, events, referrals, and outbound research.
  • Maintain active prospecting rhythms in alignment with company’s strategic marketing plan.
  • Document all actions and other information in the Professional Services Automation (PSA), Centralized Documentation, Quoting, and other applications as directed.
  • Maintain situational awareness of vendor partner programs and promotions through continual training and research.
  • Research products & services as necessary to stay current with changing technology.
  • Coordinate and schedule First Time Appointments between clients and sales team.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Provide sales support for clients both remote and on-site.
  • Ensure the sales process is adhered to throughout the transaction and customer interaction.
  • Support Inside Sales team with quote creation, cover letter, and information documentation.
  • Attend assigned sales training, networking events, and vendor consultations.
  • Investigate and resolve sales-related customer complaints and problems.
  • Respond to customer sales inquiries via phone, email, and ticketing system.
  • Answer phone calls as requested or needed for client inquiries or follow-up activities.
  • Maintain situational awareness of regulatory compliance, emerging technologies & trends.

Sales Process Ownership

  • Coordinate with Inside Sales as needed to advance sales opportunities through the sales process.
  • Consult with Sales Engineers as needed to align the sales presentation with the proposed solution.
  • Work cross-department to obtain pre-sales discovery, solution development insights, and vendor promotions.
  • Present prepared quotes, project proposals, agreement contracts, or sales materials, sometimes under short notice.
  • Develop proposals and other documents as necessary to advance sales opportunities.
  • Present proposals to clients in-person or over remote calls as directed.
  • Close on sales opportunities through online quoting software, in-person signature, or documented email to approve proposal on the client’s behalf.
  • Keep the Business Development Manager informed of customer concerns and quote/proposal progress.

Contribute to Department & Organizational Operation

  • Participate in Business Development department meetings, All Staff monthly meetings, and other huddles as needed.
  • Provide input for organizational operation and planning.
  • Support organizational operation as requested and as needed.
  • Keep assigned areas clean and neat.
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance for client-facing interactions. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/EXPERIENCE

  • One year or more experience in an Inside Sales or related position where selling is a core focus.
  • One year or more experience in an Outside Sales or related position where selling is a core focus.
  • Knowledge of current services and merchandise offerings related to managed IT services (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Managed IT Services and related subscription-based solutions (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow sales frameworks or sales processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform client-facing presentations of proposals or products offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport & build a business & personal relationship over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales opportunities with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Report directly to Business Development Manager.
  • Coordinate customer service activities with other sales and operations representatives.
  • Consult with sales and service staff as necessary when preparing quotes and other materials.
  • Consult with Sales Engineer or other technical staff to develop solutions for clients.
  • Inform the Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) if a client is upset or emotional opposition occurs. 

FREEDOM TO ACT

  • Update customer information as needed.
  • Coordinate directly with other personnel as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
